Vision and mission

Our vision is Jesus.
Our mission is people.

Our vision is Jesus.
Our mission is people.

The Vine House began with the simple but weighty conviction, that our community mattered too much to look away.

Our story

We see the strength, resilience, and potential of our people. But we also see the pressure they carry. Families feel disconnected, Rangatahi navigating life without safe spaces.

The Vine House was our response. Where ordinary people could gather around food, conversation, and prayer. Where faith is lived out in practical ways, and where leadership is shared.

Our Purpose

Walking with people, not ahead of them.

Point England didn’t need another programme, it needed consistent people who would stay.

We saw a need for safe spaces where families belong, and where faith is expressed through action, not pressure. This isn’t about fixing people; it's about walking alongside them through long-term commitment to this place.

We believe God meets people where they are, not where they should be, and that transformation happens in community, not isolation.

The Vine House isn’t a project. It’s a long-term presence committed to seeing faith, family, and community grow together — season after season. This is our story. And you’re welcome to be part of it.

A DIFFERENT KIND OF COMMUNITY

Faith Without the Churchy Feel

The Vine House doesn’t look like a traditional church. That’s intentional.

We believe faith is lived out in real relationships and shared meals, not just attended once a week. We gather in relaxed settings with no pressure to perform and no expectation to have it all together. Here, we prioritise community before structure, and belonging before believing.

Our Leadership Team

Meet Herb & Ana

Herb and Ana founded The Vine House with a simple conviction: fruitfulness flows from staying connected to Jesus, the True Vine. Married for over 15 years and raising six children, they believe faith should feel like family.

Since opening their home in 2018, The Vine House has grown into a spiritual home across Tāmaki—relational and centered on Christ. Herb carries the heart of an encourager through mentoring and chaplaincy, while Ana brings deep pastoral care, creating spaces where people feel seen and safe.

Together, they lead with humility—anchored in presence, purpose, and people.

Meet Hiro

Hiro Ford is a proud Cook Islander based in Māngere, Auckland. He serves as a co-leader of The Vine House Faith Community and the Remain Youth Project, contributing both spiritual and practical leadership to the life of the community.

Hiro has a deep passion for serving people and walking alongside others as they grow closer to Jesus. He believes faith is lived out through genuine relationships, consistency, and simply showing up for people where they are.

He also serves on the board, providing financial oversight and stewardship to ensure the vision is resourced and sustained with integrity and wisdom.

OUR ECOSYSTEM OF CARE

The Roots of Remain Youth.

The Vine House is the spiritual foundation of the Remain Youth Project.

While Remain Youth offers the front door—engaging young people through sport and creativity—The Vine House provides the deeper roots for those wishing to explore faith and purpose.

We offer a connected ecosystem of safe programs, trusted mentors, and an optional pathway into spiritual growth. There is no obligation to attend, we are simply here as a spiritual home when you are ready.
